Diddy's ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton has broken her silence saying the surveillance video that shows him physically assaulting Cassie Ventura has 'triggered her own trauma' and pointedly claims 'I know exactly how she feels.'

Hylton, 51, was Diddy's first public relationship and the pair share 30-year-old son Justin Combs together. She also has a son and daughter with ex-husband Jojo Brim. 

Posting an image of all five of the rapper's children, Hylton stated that Diddy 'needs help' and is now praying that he 'does the work and receives it.'

In her post she wrote: 'I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma.'

'These young people were raised by women that want the best for them – we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. 

'Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them. Their father needs help and I am praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.

 Over the weekend the embattled rapper, 54, broke his silence for the first time since the disturbing video, which depicted him attacking his ex-girlfriend Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura, emerged this week.

Shortly afterwards, Ventura's lawyer said his apology video was 'pathetic, desperate, and disingenuous' as five months earlier, he had proclaimed his innocence and said she was only suing him for a 'payday.'

Looking into the camera, Diddy said: 'So difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you got to do that. I was f***ed up.

'I mean I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses, my behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I'm disgusted.

'I was disgusted then when I did it, I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab.

'Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I am committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I'm truly sorry.'

Misa is pictured above just this month on May 11th, 2024 at the 3rd Annual Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit in New York 

Sources said Diddy went to rehab following the 2016 incident and continues to seek both therapy and spiritual work.

The 2016 video, obtained by CNN, shows the rapper shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist, chasing Cassie down the hall at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City. 

As she tried to get into an elevator, he grabbed her by the back of the head and slammed her to the ground.

He then kicked her as she lay on the floor motionless, before grabbing the two designer bags she'd tried to escape with.

Diddy stood over her, kicked her again, and then dragged her back to their room by the hoodie.

Cassie claimed in a since-settled lawsuit that Diddy had paid the same hotel $50,000 for the footage after the attack.
